We audit the news so you don't have to.
ClearNews is a news-analysis engine. Every story that reaches your briefing has been pulled from a curated network of publishers, cross-referenced across the political spectrum, and run through our own multi-signal scoring pipeline — so the headline isn't the only thing you're judging the story by.
Updated continuously as new coverage is ingested and scored.
Four signals on every story
Cross-outlet aggregation
We cluster coverage of the same underlying story across left, center, right, and international outlets — so you can see how many sources are reporting it, and whether one side is alone.
The Full Picture
We compare an article's framing against how other outlets covered the same story, so you can see the angles, counter-evidence, and context the piece left out.
Bias & framing detection
Language choice, sourcing patterns, and what's emphasized vs. omitted are analyzed to place each article on a left-to-right framing scale — separate from whether it's accurate.
What's missing
The context the headline left out — counterpoints, historical baselines, tradeoffs — surfaced so you walk away with the full picture, not the narrowest version of it.
Accuracy and bias, scored separately.
Every article gets an accuracy score from 0–100 and a bias indicator on a left-to-right scale. Higher accuracy means the reporting holds up against primary sources and cross-outlet consensus. "Center" doesn't mean correct — it means the article avoids loaded framing and presents multiple perspectives.
Outlets accumulate scorecards as we analyze their work, so our publisher ratings sharpen over time. The score breakdown is visible on every article — you can see exactly which signals helped or hurt it. No black box.
Jake C., Founder
I built ClearNews because the misinformation around important world topics has become commonplace, and tracking down accurate information is incredibly time-consuming and frustrating. I wanted to consolidate stories in one place, bring real data and intelligence to the topics we care about as citizens, and — hopefully over time — drive meaningful accountability and change in how issues are reported.
ClearNews is meant as an educational tool: a way to quickly and efficiently understand all sides of an issue, so you can build stronger convictions about where you stand on the things that matter.
What ClearNews isn't
- Our scoring is an informed estimate, not a verdict. It can be wrong, and we'd rather you know that than pretend otherwise.
- We're not a news outlet. We don't write original reporting — we analyze the reporting that exists.
- Always click through to the original source for the full story.ClearNews is a lens, not a replacement.
